File Permission Manager – (FPM)

File Permission Manager eliminates setuid and setgid bits from files on your AIX System.  If a hacker gains access of a setuid or setgid command while it is executing in a root context, the hacker can potentially compromise your system security.  It is a fundamental security recommendation to eliminate the use of setuid and setgid as much as possible.

  1. Removes setuid and setgid bits based on a Low, Medium and High profile
  2. Easily customize the set of files being altered
  3. Easily revert back to original setting
